8-3:30 Topics to tackle and tasks to attain

  1. Technical support for library online catalog program / TRT, TRA, CASPR manual and helpline - what is needed and who can provide it; read highlights and tab chapters of new manuals; share epiphanies
  2. Access to shared folder on tech.wsd.wednet.edu server for librarians; same server used to backup library records
  3. Downloading and installing CASPR LibraryWorld 3.02 (using CASPR www link and using tech server) - demo and do
  4. Explanation of LibraryWorld version 9 vs. 10, components of program and what goes where on building server, librarian workstation, circulation station, student station
  5. Demonstration/explanation of keychain unlocker program to automatically log on to Explorer stations - librarians modify keychain unlocker program for her/his building
  6. Librarians log on to building library records across wide area network and work on real data!
  7. Editing reports - access and view Geneva’s reports from tech.wsd.wednet.edu server; add to own library reports folder if wanted; practice editing and saving reports (refer to manual); see Linda’s overdue report notices.
  8. Discuss and identify minimum technology hardware specifications for elementary, middle, and high school libraries
  9. Demo portable inventory option
  10. Individual/small group work session
    • continue editing reports
    • access and use Follett Titlewave Collection Development data (from George’s visit) to clean up database
    • practice portable inventory
    • investigate Lexile data entry
