Fireworks Banner Text Tutorial

  2. Create a new document in Fireworks the close to the size that you want your banner text to be. The one above is 700 by 100 pixels.

  3. Click on the A tool in the toolbar and type in your banner.
    When the text is placed you can choose your font, size, color etc. Use the Properties inspector to do this. It is shown below the image.

  4. Next after you get the text looking close to what you want click on the pointer tool in the upper left.

  5. Now you can click on the Filters + button in the properties inspector.

  6. Choose the one you want... there are a lot and the best way to learn them is to simply try them all. I am using Drop Shadow for this example. The properties for each will vary but the main component to each effect are,


  7. Once you do this you will see your result, if you like it save it as your own Style for the Styles palette.

  8. You can then access them by opening the Style Palette from the Window menu... it is way cool.
