TRT Job Description
Building
Administrator
The
TRT's function is three-fold: To assist in the integration
of technology into instruction at the building level; to function
as a technical advisor in the technology committee; and to
ensure that, along with other building teams, technology resource
needs
are aligned with standards-based instruction, communicated
and evaluated. This
includes developing an awareness of hardware and software standards,
training certificated staff in the use of hardware and server
access and troubleshooting technical problems related to approved
academic
programs. TRT's do not train staff in the use of any
district non-approved or supplemental programs. Whereas
the TRT is directly supervised by the building principal, they
will work collaboratively
with the Learning and Teaching Department, building teams and
the Operational Technology Director.

Provide
leadership for technology planning at the building level by being
an active member of the building technology committee.

Provide
leadership in the planning, development and implementation of appropriate
grade level technology curriculum and integrating technology applications
in the regular curriculum development process.

Provide
direction to the building Para Tech (Technical Para Educator) in
identifying, troubleshooting and/or securing resources for the maintenance
and repair of hardware and software.

Assist
in the process of organizing, developing and delivering appropriate
staff training programs concerned with technology education.

Develop
a specialization in one area of technology use to expand the breadth
of expertise within the district.

Through
Technology Articulation Team meetings and/or e-mail, maintain regular
communication with the Assistant Superintendent of Learning and Teaching.

Assist
in the evaluation of software and hardware being considered for purchase.

Participate
in ongoing Professional Development related to Technology Resource
Teacher duties.

Valid
Washington State Certification with appropriate endorsement.

Skills
in computers and technology hardware and software applications.

Demonstrated
interpersonal relations, organization, communication and problem
solving skills.

Understanding
of the needs of age appropriate students.

Must
work in noisy and crowded environment.

Requires
prolonged sitting or standing.

Attendance
and punctuality are important in this position.
