I've attached a WORD document that has all of the work for last week, this week and even next week. Do what you can when you can and please get well!

Make-up Work

Wow...the flu bug just keeps hitting us. Please call or email the school to let us know if you are going to be away from school. We will be more than happy to put some work together for you so that you don't get so far behind. 1st, 3rd, & 6th periods continued work on 1.2.4 We are working on converting decimals, fractions and percents.
Grades are looking kind of sad due to illness and not making up the work. Try your best to get it in. I'll try to keep things posted on the blog. Keep checking back. 4th & 5th periods need to work on #66 today, 61 if you were gone last Thursday.
Get well everyone!

Mid-terms going out...

  • It's hard to believe that we're already through the first half of the first quarter! I'm so pleased with the progress that many of you have made. Most of you have organized binders. Most of you are doing your work as assigned and having it completed on time. Most of you seem to be having a great time! Those of you who are struggling need to find a good friend that will help you get on the right track. Getting behind is NO FUN! Gear Up has a great Zero Period, before school homework help session, and ASAP, a great after school homework help session. I can guarantee you that you will find a great friend to help you there. Or...what about a classmate? Or...what about Mrs. Hein? Make the move...get going with your math! You'll be glad you did!

Wow! It's right around the corner! ...school, that is! Are you ready? We're going to start with a bang! Yes, there will be homework the first day! It won't be difficult though. You will need to plan on about 30 minutes of math homework per night. Make sure that you get all of your school supplies right away. I have supplies for you to borrow if needed. And...if getting your supplies right away is a problem, please let me know and we'll work something out. Enjoy your last few weeks of freedom. Your job begins soon! Welcome to Pioneer!

End of 1st Semester

Parents and Students,

I didn't make my goal of being more consistent with communication.  I feel as though I've been the substitute in my own classroom!  My conference and meeting days are by no means over, but they are going to slow down at least a little bit.  Please be patient with me as I work through the end of this semester in getting final grades in.  We are a little behind schedule, in that we've had to go back and learn more about fractions and division before we could move ahead any further.  I
have to say though, many students are building a very strong foundation!  They are owning their math knowledge and it's theirs to keep!  My frequent substitutes have also seen the tremendous growth, so it's not just me!  Please put Pioneer Math night on your calendar for February 3.  We'll be having fun again from 6:00 - 8:00 that evening.  Come early if you want to see our Math is Cool Team practice for their competition on February 6.  Have another great 3-day weekend while I work at getting caught up!  See you on Tuesday!
Mrs. Hein
